Chapter IV Universe (07)
Recurrent
Let my corpse be buried
in the earth as it is
No place is preferred, however,
plant on it a new sprout of oak tree
in lieu of a tomb stone, if possible.
My remains, by and by, with moisture in the soil,
by relaxation and contraction of the air,
creating the innumerable co-lives of bacterium,
giving the tree an energy to take roots and grow,
will be resolved into the atmosphere again, breathing in, breathing out,
breathing in, breathing out, will be released into the endless lives of
breathing in and breathing out
Even though the world seems to be declined to
the ultimate of collapse to which the world is rushing
far exceeding the existence, naught or nihility,
at this very brief moment in the geologic eras
as a proof of my gratitude for the life that I have enjoyed
let my corpse be buried deeply under the ground as it is
so that the birds can sing on it
so that a shade of recreation and relaxation can be made below it
even in the summer drought
